Scotty's Stories: Vibration Dampening

Posted in Ttileist

For more than 20 years, Scotty Cameron has experimented with different putter making materials to gain every performance advantage possible. He first implemented an elastomer membrane as a vibration dampener in his 1997 Teryllium models. It helped to bond the face inlay to the putter head for a feel that is still regarded as soft but solid. Scotty equates sound to feel, and has always experimented with vibration dampening materials and techniques to affect sound and feel. For the 2016 Select putter line, he employed a new, high-tech vibration dampening membrane that fuses the face inlay to the stainless steel body for a perfect bond that delivers unrivaled feel and feedback.
